Hi Guys. Chris here. Now to Jimny's. Couldn't find a new members section so thought here would be as good a place as any. I have been laning and off roading for about 10 years but have never has a suzuki. Most of my vehicles have been Landcruisers (Still have 3) but I am now thinking of making a change for my green laner.
Have been doing some trial events with my local club and have been enjoying it but a big lumbering Yota with 37's on isn't the vehicle to be doing it in and I think a Jimny will fit the bill perfectly.
I am at the moment waiting on a house I own to sell and as soon as it is I will have pennies to spend. I want to throw a few grand at a truck and try to get it right 1st time out!!! So hopefully this is where you guys come in.
I am figuring about 1500 for a decent base vehicle, Does that sound about right?
Then it comes to the MODS. Now I can fab some things myself but I am wanting to get this on the road ASAP once the money comes through so if the price is right I am willing to pay.
My thoughts so far are
31" insa special trax
Rocklobster Transfer
4xfourart 4 inch lift kit
Some sort of arch kit
front and rear lockers (ARB)
HD Front shafts and CV's (will probably fit these after I break the originals)
Front and rear winches
Front winch bumper
Not sure on rear winch as I haven't seen anything "off the shelf"
Sliders
Raptor paint (White or Lime Green, not decided yet)
So have you guys any other ideas or thoughts on things I should avoid or things I have included that are a waste of time and effort.
Any help would be much appreciated guys and thanks in advance

Welcome to the club Chris.
Hell thats a big shopping list.
I would buy the jimny 1st and try it out as they are very good standard.
If you are only using it on green lanes not full on competitions, a small lift and
a good set of tires a normally enough.

Thanks for the advice mate. I understand what you are saying but up here I kinda have a reputation to uphold. I still want to compete with the big boys just in something smaller. I have taken a 2" lifted truck out for the day and although I did find it very capable I NEED to eak a bit more out of it. If you know what I mean

In that case, go for it.
Plenty of good ones on here to give you a few ideas.

Welcome ..., I hope you have long arms and deep pockets.
I've been steadily turning my Jimny (paid £2k off eBay for it - cat "C" right off) into something similar to your list... and over the last 5+yrs built it into a renowned Jimny (Jalapeno).
Overall, about £8k spent on it, in mods and maintenance.
Look at Dave's thread on here www.bigjimny.com/index.php/forum?view=to...695&start=768#168220 to see what can be done - like me Dave has spent a few pennies too!!
BTW - Dave and I are in the same Jimny boys!!
Brett (aka Maverick)
P.S. Where are you based?
