My ratchet internals were replaced foc too. Another nod from me for the advanced range. Had my set about 10 years now and still going strong :)

Old sets didn't cover moving parts but new sets do, but the ratchet internals are available for £5, I have a great relationship with my local Halfords, to be fair, but so long as the tool isn't wrecked through abuse they will swap it or at the very least give you replacement internals (for the ratchet) foc . You'll get to know what staff know what they are talking about once you've used them a few times.

I've got several sets of Halfords tool kits including the 200 piece kit and have abused them.

The ratchets have been covered in mud from fixing Land Rovers at off road sites and I have left them out in the rain when working in the rain on the Jimny - yes I love it that much!

A bit of a squirt with WD40 and being left to dry in air, not shut up keeps it working well.

I've hit the ratchets with a hammer to shock stuck threads and none of them have broken. Even the smaller ones when I've not had larger six sided sockets.

Nothing has ever broken!

Halfords tools really are the nuts!

I've done some what the same with mine and broke bother the 3/8 twice and the 1/4 once and I find the 8mm 3/8 socket crap had about 3 of those and snapped the breaker bar head off but these giving them loads of abuse I still rate them higher than most
