I am a bit confused so hope one of you expert in the model types could ratify the code of what is the third generation (1998 onwards) model. I was under the assumption that it was the SJ413 as opposed to the earlier sj410 but a spares company called Japanese 4x4 spares has under their website listing of sj410-sj413 cars as for the earlier models known as initially the jeep (LJ10-20 then SJ10-40)then the samurai as the SJ413. Wikipedia do not clarify the code in their description of all the generations except for the Japanese versions calling the cars from 1998 JB32!!

The model name and the type number are two separate designations. The original SJ410 for example was an SJ40, your Jimny is probably a JB43.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

It was the SN code I was after as some spares sites use that to identify part to type. Thanks anyway.

Its SN413 (petrol) and SN415 (Diesel)

But as Rhinoman says, this is not good enough to identify parts requirements as, for example, the SN413 had a number of engine and fitting variants.

The other thing to remember is that the overall name "Jimny" varies from market to market.

In the UK, "Jimny" only refers to the SN413. In other markets the earlier SJ413 models were also referred to as "Jimny"
