Thanks Halford! Can you recommend any specific AT brands? I'm looking to get something pretty high quality - I'd rather pay more for something good (within reason lol).

When I jumped into my first Suzuki 4x4, an LJ80, I had the rear end break away a few times and IMHO part of the problem was it is so short. The other was because I drove it nippily
cos my Landrover before it was a slug.
I wonder which (old) 4x4s are primarily front drive. Maybe the Panda is one.

1. Watch the tyre pressures and lower them if necessary
2. try the BMW winter trick and carry a weight in the boot (bag of sand!)
These are rear wheel drive cars with no weight on the back. My Nissan Terrano was the same, you could scare other drivers by drifting the rear around roundabouts.
I am afraid you have to be careful in rear wheel drive and if it is slippery then 4WD would transform it.

Check your tyre pressures. If they are too high then the back will step out much easier. My local tyre place had the new tyres well over inflated. (Edit: I see Martin best me to it with this advice)
I did have the dueler HT's on the front of my jimny and I ran them for about a year. They looked like the originals from 2008, they had plenty of tread but the tyres felt hard when I pressed a finger nail into the rubber and they had started to crack due to age. To be fair I never push the jimny hard but I've never felt that they were going to let go. BUT the new grabbers I've fitted do seem much more planted, placebo effect, possibly, but time will tell. I had some proper miss matched cheap tyres on the rear, a good ride and an enduro something or other, I never had the back end step out other than when I provoked the jimny on a lightly snow covered car park. I was always worried with all negative reviews I'd came across online regarding the duellers, so many people detest them, maybe I just drove accordingly or maybe I just drive like an older gentleman. Lol.

Sounds like me LOL.
My reason for a 4x4 is it means even though I may be slower than most I can go where they can't.
