I used a black gasket sealant with a high temperature rating on various parts when building my 1.6 up and it was brilliant stuff

I did mine a few weeks (a month?) ago, it has a steel gasket. The Suzuki part number is 16119-85C01, you might find the same but ending -60A04 or -60A05, these are probably the same I don't know. I've seen paper pattern parts on google but that's it. I don't know what they're looking at on their computer but at a guess, I'd say they were viewing the twin cam engine which doesn't have one. The thin steel gaskets are for dimension critical parts, the housing holds the pump rotor on the end of the crankshaft and is driven off 2 flats, it has to be relatively true, I would guess if Suzuki designed it, or redesigned it today they would omit the gasket all together and just bond it.

I've always used used Three Bond 1215 (£10ish from your local motor factor, significantly MORE expensive online) but I'll take what I can get, its not something that is normally stocked by everyone and I do often just work spur of the "oh s*!t thats wrong"

I cleaned both sides of the steel to get every last trace of loose rubber off and then applied a smooth coat of sealant to both sides just before installing. The seal in the front is a rotary shaft seal 32x47x6 (or at least, mine was anyway)
