G13bb oil pump was created by mickt
Has anybody ever taken off the cover that the oil pump is mounted to. This is the one that the crankshaft sprocket goes through with the replaceable seal. I have removed mine as I am trying to source and fix a long on going history of oil leaks on the car. Upon removal there was what was the remains of a paper gasket but it was in pieces and was very brittle. I have a complete gasket set for the G13bb engine and although it is for a Baleno the engine is basically the same. This set has a cork sump gasket as the Jimny does not use one is one difference. Looking for the oil pump gasket and I have found that it is steel. I have been on to the dealers and they report that if you were to order the oil pump it comes with the panel but the spares catalogue does not show a gasket per say! So from the photos you can see the panel and steel gasket. There appears to be a crush area around the panel. Has anyone ever used one of these on the jimny with success?

Anybody got any info to help on this query? Surely somebody has taken this cover off of their G13bb engine!

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

I've no experience with this but I'd run the metal gasket, it is a similar design to some head gaskets, usually the coating acts as a sealant. You need to make sure that the mating faces are clean and then follow the torque requirements in the Baleno FSM.

Thanks for that Rhinoman. I do have gasket paper so I might make one. I would like to use the metal one but it is quite a job in situ if it leaks. I will decide eventually what to do.

I would probably use a good gasket sealant and thats all.

I am old school and find that using that stuff seems so unprofessional. I would much rather use a gasket with either blue or red hylomar. When that stuff first came out it smelled of vinegar!!
