The cv's are the weakest link. Rob Storr does uprated shafts and cv's together but they are 26 spline so you need to convert your diff to 26 spline with side gears from a rear diff or get lockers front and rear with Arbil 4x4 supplying the front locker with 26 splines so it seems from recent discussion on here by those in the know.

Special tracs are cv killers, I thrashed mine hard today and all fine, but I now use a less aggressive mud terrain tyre.

Interesting you dhould say that was thinking the same thing tbe special tracks just grip and go i think maybe a less aggressive tyre would offer a little spinning on wheels and a less stress on shafts??

Yeah more mechanical sympathy required, were you in reverse when you broke them? They're more easily broken if the tyres suddenly find grip in reverse. I switched from BFGs to Insas six months ago and am still trialling and orienteering, not managed to break anything yet, touch wood.

No it started clicking then put it on full lock and then the dreaded crunch bang lol then you know its gone as you loose 4wd and cant turn a certain way as the ball bearing from the cv jam up

Absolutely. You can also have more fun when everything becomes a little trickier as I found the extreme tread of my Malatesta Kaimans (same as Insa Turbo Special Tracks) just made things easy. I also blew a CV but when the Mrs was driving in a winch challenge. We had been going really easy on it, yet it still blew a CV. We used to give it hell on Kumho KL71's and never had a risk of damage.
