Hi folks,

Looking for some advice. Im new to 4x4 and Suzuki Jimnys but loving it so far. My Jimny needs some new tyres and Im not sure what to go for. The current tyres are road tyres 205/70/15. It will be used 90 percent of the time on country roads and town visits and the rest on our sisters farm. I think i would like a set of all terrain tyres but not sure what size to go for. My friend has a jimny and he suggests Kumho KL78 195/80/15 whilst another friend recommended Yokohama Geolander 205/70/15. Would i notice a difference going to a 195/80/15 on the road?

I quite like the look of a more aggressive tread but dont see anything in those sizes. I like the look of General Grabbers but they are 215/75/15. My wife will be using it mostly in the winter to take the kids to school so want the tyres to be as good on the road and safe cornering as a priority. Im not planning on any lifts or cutting flaps etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What year is your jimny? If pre VVT then 215/75/15s will go on fine and look great. I love my grabber AT2s :)

No mods needed to fit and they are great on/off road. Use it as my shooting truck and the tyres have coped well in the mud.

Hi Minibbb,

Thanks for the reply! My Jimny is 2002. Do the 215 General Grabbers make any difference to engine performance?

Pm jonesyba420 about 195/80/15's as he runs them in a Kumho KL71.
