The g16b is in and fires up but when you accelerate it is missing, coughing and banging
The engine light is on

When its out of gear it splutters when you first rev it but it will rev at about 4000-5000 rpm OK but backfires when you let off the accelerator
when you drive it it just splutters and coughs as you accelerate but will then run smoothish at a constant speed until the engine goes back under load when it will cough and splutter again

It has the g13bb intake manifold and exhaust manifold, but the g16b injectors and coil packs

Any ideas what to look at ??

Cam sensor? Also swap your jimny coils and leads on just in case.

A lot of people use the green injectors from the baleno too? I did one for a friend and we used the baleno injectors but I don't know if it's essential

Timing out by a touch? Plugs are in the right order? Which ECU are you using?

Also if you're close to a dyno maybe get it put on there and check the fueling on a wideband can tell you whats going on under load etc when on a dyno :)

Thanks guys

Using the jimny ecu

will try the coil packs and cables and check the timing tomorrow (it has had a new cambelt and water pump fitted before it went in)

are the spark plugs interchangeable with the g13bb? (as they were fairly new in the old engine)

if that doen't work will then will be looking for the green injectors (although cider said the vit ones were fine on his)

You must replace the jimny ecu with the one from the 1.6

also check the fuel pump capacity. Your new engine require more fuel than the 1.3.

You are going to need the 1.6 fuel pump from the 1.6 gas tank.

Use the Jimny ECU, the Vit ECU is completely incompatible.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.
