That may be, but only marginally. Would never trust the entire weight of my comp jimny on the strength of 6 bolts.

You make a valid point, especially as it's an alloy casing is it not!
However, it ain't broke yet!!!
It wouldn't be an issue on a lowline winch mounted feet down as it would be no different to how it would normally sit on a winch bumper.

Because it is not only the thread of the bolts that hold the winch, but the entire bolt itself, which is usually 4 x 12mm bolts. And also, that Gigglepin winch is far more powerful than any low mount winch available. Best thing is still foot forward mouting for any winch.

The way this one is mounted, to winch forward it pulls on those threads and the risk is it could pull the threads out of the alloy housing where the steel bolts are a harder metal. It'd work fine and as intended when winching backwards. Do you see what we are saying.
However, our worry may not be justified as it has held up fine!
On a lowline winch it mounts to the bottom of the winch bumper/tray on four feet with threaded holes in an alloy housing. The pull is then sideways on all four bolts, so they are not being pulled against the threads. It doesn't matter which side you pull from then, front or back, it still pulls the bolt sideways in it's thread, not against the thread its self.
