Ye the wheel winch would be useless if your buried half way up the doors in a bog.

Burying the spare and using a xeng anchor is fine but it can do quite alot of damage to the ground (which isnt good on a greenlane)!! those screw in ones in the vid will cause less damage I should imagine but will take a bit longer to set up so wouldnt be good for comp use.

Remember things are quite different in Australia where this is designed. For a start, people don't go out to get stuck on purpose like some people here do. And if you do get stuck somewhere remote, things can get pretty serious. This is a simple, reliable solution that doesn't rely on anything other than the drivetrain of your truck.

Agreed.
The X-eng anchor is really great. Suits the Jimny great with that low weight. I have one myself.

I think my winchbitch is happy that he does not have to carry around on a 20 kg ground anchor all the time

Here in Denmark we a stupid rule that says winching in trees is forbidden. So anchors are used all the time in comps.
