cant see the ones from jimny bits bending tbh mate, think there about 4mm thick folded steel.

mine rest on the bottom of the shock mount so only reduce clearance by the thickness of the guard itself. the hole in the guard the bolt goes through is more like a slot so you can sort of adjust the position of them up and down, i set mine so theres no gap between the guard and the mount.

jimnybits is currently out of stock and i think their the only company that sells them.

mine are 5mm folded steel and they bend 5mm of steel is nothing with a ton of car sat one it ive been told about others bending and that there useless you should see mine but I guess people wouldn't notice if there not mainly offroad and looking for the worse places to take the jimny
good test to do is go stick a jack on the edge on one and jack the jimny up bet it bends and then think jimny could be dropping a foot on to some thing that would make that ton of car in to a lot more force

i think thats the key right there, i think the guards will protect the mounts from light abuse ie being dragged through mud etc but under more hardcore use ie what you like to deal out to yours out on the plaine they will fold under the pressure from the weight of the truck landing on them on rocks etc.

stupid design of the original mount, should be on top of the axle!

I welded new brackets on top of my axel which gives me better articulation I have also fitted a 2 inch lift by fitting ford focus estate springs but kept old shocks on back. the older brackets hang to low. What do you think ????
