Rear shock locators? was created by Docmartin4x4
Does anyone think that the rear shock locators hang too low?
I been 'hung up' a couple of times now on these as they hang down below the axle casing, Has anyone modified them so they are at least level with the casing or would it compromise articulation?

Can you take some pictures how they are mounted?
Normally they are not lower then te original fixation from the damper!
You also could put rear shock skid plates.

i think docmartin4x4 is saying they maybe they should have been positioned somewhere else. they are very low even on a raised vehicle . they are also very vulnerable ( as mine was ). the skid will protect them but in turn will be lower still.

this is something i'm going to have a look at tomorrow as mine is off the axle. i'll be taking some measurements to fab up a new bracket. i think the problem will be having to change the length of the shock absorber as it will be mounted way higher. maybe a standard ( not lifted ) heavy duty shock will be required.
any thoughts anyone ??????????????
