If the Jimny is phased out and replaced with an IFS vehicle, a lot of people will probably rush up
and buy the remaining stocks. I have always been a fan of solid axle vehicles and it would be a pity
if they convert the jimny to ifs.

On the other hand, suzuki has displayed the xlander concept based on the Jimny. Even Less practical
and more fun. Plus the fact that I think it is easier to lift and already accomodates big tires.

or another concept vehicle

I hope one of this concept vehicles based on a jimny underchassis with solid axles make
it to production. :)

Applying actual rust proofing, not the brine based paints they seem to use at the moment.

There is stil the Jeep Wrangler, Nissan patrol Super Safari and the Land cruiser 70 series. :)

Ultimately it will leave only the g wagon as a new live axle car and even that is slated for decommissioning before the end of the decade.

I think that they should have made a commercial version and a pick up. I'm sure that a van version of the Jimny4work would have had a lot of appeal to farmers and people like surveyors. The old SJ413K is still being sold in NZ to farmers as an alternative to a quad.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

Most of the current cars mentioned are generally larger vehicles than the Jimny .
As already said emissions/crash regulations (worldwide) and also economy will determine how the cars turn out but I fear the "utility" nature will be lost. :(
With regards to economy /emissions I suspect possibly the Swift diesel unit might be a contender??

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)
