as said before i rely on the seal between the 2 halves of the airbox. i'd only use this in areas i want permanently sealing/stuck/waterproofing.

standard jimny - for now

Seems a good seal to me I've never had any problems but I,m sure a bead of silicon round wouldn't hurt?


That would be a good idea if I did have access to a smoke machine but I don't for free. I think a chap in my old club advertised he has one but he appears not to be cheap with anything.

Is silaflex silicone based?

you can get it where its not as we use a non silcon based one in the body shop

You can get smoke pellets from a plumbers merchant for cheap or mole smokes from a country store. They'll do the same job as a smoke machine.

I used silicone and a 5mm poprivit in the drain hole and silicone around the joint of the air intake on the box and thats it

Try using a insect room fogger to make smoke - just place it in the air box and watch where it leaks out if at all.
