Sealing the airbox when fitting a snorkel.

What do you guys do to seal the airbox when fitting a snorkel?

The air filter has a rubber seal but surely you don't rely on that do y'all?

There's a hole in the bottom of the filter housing that must need sealing too.

I'm guessing you water lovers with snorkels seal these up or there's not much point in a snorkel!

The inlet air temperature sensor is in the airbox too, so you can't really do away with that.

I just used silicon to fill the gaps

No temps will be seen really on the inlet side so I presume it will be fine?

Had it submerged with battery shorting out and snorkel remained dry, I haven't sealed the box itself I rely on that seal

I shall have another look at the air filter and how well it seals it's self then. Maybe I'm not giving it enough credit.

If you can get hold of a smoke machine it's a good way of testing for leaks by filling the snorkel,

Seems a good seal to me I've never had any problems but I,m sure a bead of silicon round wouldn't hurt?
