Vitara free wheeling hubs on a Jimny was created by masseyzook
Hi Folks,

First post here 'n I'm asking for info,
I've owned a '52 plate Jimny for nearly a year now,
guys that sold me the car fitted vitara free wheelin hubs to it,
axle has never held it's fluids even after fitting new half shafts and king pin bearings,
I'm now being told that there is a different bearing/washer used when fitting vitara hubs ?,
any help will be much appreciated.

I take it the hubs have these fitted?

www.bigjimny.com/store/index.php?_a=product&product_id=15

These are just spacers that allow the Vit hubs to fit the Jimny. As for fluids, is it leaking around the swivel joint behind the front wheels?

Who did the Kingpins? Did they replace the oil seals as well that the drive shafts go through?

same guys that sold me the motor fitted the half shafts and king pin bearings but all comunication has now broken down between us,car has been given a dodgy MOT and I'm now taking them to court,I've no idead what type or how they've been fitted mate.

ps now checked the link you gave, recon they've fitted without cone washers and hub adaptors,
considered these guys as friends,Mug I am,
Thanks for the info my friend,
will look into it a bit further now I have this info.

Agree, they have messed it up. Probably didn't know what they are doing or they are crooks.

Luckily king pins and seals are an easy job, can be done in a day. Take a look at the guide here: www.bigjimny.com/images/documents/Changi...KingPin_Bearings.pdf

The Jimny is very simple mechanically, and if your that way inclined, most jobs can be done with basic tools and help from this site. I know, because I do all my own Jimny maintenance now (other than welding!), whereas before I would call in a mechanic to do anything on my other car (its a new modern car that I have no chance of fixing  )
