Load Liner with seats still in was created by gt1cm2
Hi guys,
First time user and so far loving the forum.
Just a question, does anyone have example of a load liner, brought or made, that sits on top of the back seats and can be taken out so the seats can be used? I brought my new Jimny yesterday, YAY, and as I have horses I need to carry junk around in the back but I still want to be able to use the seats when I'm with friends so I was thinking of getting some board like MDF stuff and making a liner that sits on top of the seats and is hinged in the middle so I can fold it up and remove when needed.
So.... anyone got any examples?

Thanks, but don't you have to take the seats out for that?

No, I had one for 2 minutes and sold it on, my dogs did not approve of it. If fitting the mesh screen then the bases do need to come out.

I made a ply shelf behind my rear seats so when the seats folded down the back was all one level blanket over the top 6 dogs all comfy and happy, essential tools under the shelf out there way.
Plus as I have a soft top the tools are out of site.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThe genuine Suzuki boot liner fits over the folded rear seats. That's the "step" you can see.
The only problem with it(apart from cost lol) is that if you are out somewhere and want to carry people what do you do with the liner as it's all one piece?
I bought one of these
www.wilcodirect.co.uk/product/car-covers...ive-boot-liner-large
It fits the Jimny well and the elastics go over the front headrests.
However, the velcro strips did not stick well and the sides kept falling down.
I modified it by using thin net curtain rods but garden canes or similar plastic rods would do.
I used 3 rods and turned over the top edges of the liner and inserted the rods. One each side and one across the front.
I used an eyelet type riveter to secure the edges but adhesive would probably work as well.
The extra eyelets also gives you somewhere to attach the rear elastics!
I used this type kit but there are plier and hammer types also available. You can get them at craft, camping, sewing type places.
With some more elastic added at the rear it hooks over the rear seat belt mountings.
The good thing is the rods can be slid out and it can be folded up and stowed away in the car if passenger room is required and it was all at a fraction of the cost of a genuine "rigid" liner.
It can also be easily removed and shook out/washed to remove straw/dog hair etc.I'll take a pic if anyone is interested.
