Just filled up. My fuel light had not come on and I had approx. 5.6 litres left in the tank. Needle was just to the right of the big E.

Thanks for advice re tyre pressures Adam. I will drop pressure to 23 at the weekend, would I be better making front & rear the same or should it be a couple of pounds more in the rear?

The fuel pump always draws fuel from the bottom of the tank, weather it's full or empty. My tank is clean anyway (It has a sealed cap and I only ever put petrol in it). Why is yours full of dirt?
You must get fed up with filling up every 100 miles. You'd think they'd put a filter in for people like you with dirty tanks, so you could still use all the fuel. Oh wait, they do!

Fuel does have dirt in ie sand rust from petrol station tanks
Your right it does pick up from the bottom of the tank and there is a filter in the tank iv alway run my cars from full to empty iv never had a problem in 17 years
But i spose its presonal preference to when and where you fill up
