[...] a set of poly bushes to replace my worn rubber bushes that failed MOT.

Why the preference of the fancy coloured bushes instead of Suzuki originals? I have just bought original bushes for the rear arms. Are aftermarket poly bushes better?

Polly are easier to install without a press. They're allegedly longer lasting too. But they are usually harder and won't flex as much and will transmit more noise, vibration and harshness. They also put more strain on the mounting points which can cause the holes to oval or in extreme cases can find weaknesses in the metal itself. They aren't as bad for that as rose joints which are metal on metal.

Poly, at any suspension pivot point (on a Jimny, this will be the chassis end of the radius arms) will squeak as the suspension cycles, unless frequently lubricated, they will also wear quite rapidly if exposed to sand & grit, which sticks to the grease and contaminates it.

I would not recommend them on any vehicle that sees off road use.

For me it is purely for ease of installation with me not owning a press and needing it done in time for my MOT retest.
