jimny towing trailer off road was created by marcin2594
Has anyone here ever done off roading in jimny with a trailer on the back?
I'm thinking about long distance expedition trip but I need more space to take all my equipment and other staff.
Do you think towing a small trailer (not caravan, just small trailer) is an option or do I have to go for bigger car?
I need a space for me and my mrs, and I would rather avoid idea to fit roof box.

Remove the rear seats

Then pack the car with what you need if it fits no trailer needed you be surprized what you can fit in the back with the rear seats out

Cant see any real reason not to Aussies do it a lot as long as the trailer and hitch are up to it cant see what the problem is may well save your car from being overloaded in the rear and it crashing into its bump stops and generally giving the arse end a bashing

And this is the main reason why I think about a trailer. Roof box raise centre of gravity, removing rear seats and put all my stuff on the back will overload rear suspension, so the firth option is to tow a trailer, but I have never tow a trailer off road and I wonder has jimny got enough power to do it.

Low box and if you are not running monster tyres should be up to the job with a small trailer other thing to remember is the trailer will have a lot less hang ups underneath than your Jimny so to be honest cant see it getting caught up think my biggest worry would be if you encountered soft sand just saps the power from the car but that goes for any car
