If I am honest I get a great deal of benefit from the rear locker but the front locker never seems to help much, also more than anything I need to give serious consideration to my driving style when using the front locker. If I had my time again I wouldn't fit a front locker but now I have it I will repair it and keep as is.
On the upside I was impressed on how much stronger the SJ shafts and CV's look due to their increased size and am glad they are fitted.

Smoggy wrote: Funny enough Mark I've just had the exact same conversation with Richie's Jimny. Good news re the differential anyway; I have learnt a lot on how the front axle and differential assembly goes together and realised after speaking to Rob Butler that the damaged crown wheel and pinion are only standard Suzuki items bolted to a ARB locking assembly.

Thats good news that the broken bits are original Jimny - should only by £100 for a diff from cam-suzuki
I've been told the ARB bits are virtually unbreakable.. half shafts Cvs and pinion rings will always break first
I've found that with our front ARB to only use it in a straight line as if you steer it busts halfshafts and you need to decide if you're going to need it before you get stuck as once youve stopped and are spinning wheels it doesn't help so much

I think it's the foot itself that's the problem, have you ever considered a hand throttle
