Scotchlocks? I'd be soldering for a reliable long term connection.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

I too soldered mine as with all the water and mud that ends up down there I didn't trust the scotch locks. I bought a H4 bulb adaptor/connector from eBay for £4 and soldered the earth switching wire into the connector. That way I didn't have to start cutting wires on the Jimny and it was much easier to solder it on the bench then just clip it together in the car. Also if I had managed to solder the wrong wire I could have just switched the terminal wire round in the holder until I got it onto the high beam earth.

Did this for my HID foglights-as-spotlights for the exact same reason as horam said - also quite useful as you can do the whole loom off the car, drop it in and connect everything up! :)
