Welded up a hole in the floor.
Also got ready to put another piece in a bracket but then the power went out in my lamp luckily so called it a day.

Still a few more to do before the MOT.

Got the next piece welded in but, then the power went out on my angle grinder. Did not bother to take the wired ones cause it was late again.
Not decided what to treat the brown parts with and the insides of the brackets.
Most likely lin seed oil and or owatrol oil, then some thicker stuff. Visible and exposed parts will get some paint with rust converter in two coats before several coatings of paint and then underseal. Hoping it will stick.

Did it need anything extra doing?

Had that feeling once again a rear wheel bearing was toast... Sure enough.
Must be the 5th bearing in 8 years.
Once again (it did this last time on the other side) the bearing seized and was now performing its job as a hardened steel bush.
Cut the old bearing off, skimmed the bearing diameter, built up and remachined the bearing diameter. Didn't remember to take photos of the worn axle.
