Cleaned out the idle control valve and the intake as well, as I've been having issues with poor acceleration, low idle and random stalling.
I couldn't get the screws off the valve itself and they were starting to strip, so I just sprayed a shed load of carb cleaner in the hole.

Seems to idle much better now, and it actually shows idle speed on the dashboard!

Changed the oil.  I left it to drain overnight and also put some spare clean oil down it (there's always some hanging around from 5 litre bottles) after the old stuff had mostly come out.  Makes a big difference to how clean the new oil starts off and stays.

On the gen3 you can just dump an entire 4 litre bottle into it and the level will be spot on after it's circulated and filled the filter (I use the slightly bigger 1.6 filters).  No need to mess around with checking the dipstick.  The Jimny is pretty unfussy about oil and  I used Castrol Edge 5W30 this time.  It never uses any between services.

Well the last few days inbetween other chores, on my '84 SJ410 I have changed the aft crank seal and the bottom oil pan gasket. and the aft drive shaft seal on the gearbox. All old hard and cracked being 40+ years old. It is quite common to see leaks when a car has been left for 10-12 years and then recomissioned.
Getting ready to put it back toghether now. Have to make a centering tool for the clutch plate first.

The gearbox was a pain to get out. The tunnel is way more narrow on this SJ than the previous I've done so does not help much that the gearbox is smaller.

Also discovered the water pump is leaking so will have to change that too before the MOT.

Installed an intake with blow off valve on my JA22! Ordered from Buyee and arrived to me in Tennessee in less than 2 weeks.

Been test driving and I'm not sure I love the blow off valve as I'm just not a fan of the noise, but it does seem to help spool up the turbo a little quicker.

I've also started playing around with a backlit logo for my grill. Still needs some tweaking, but it's a pretty good start.
