Crazy question I think, but if you start floating like the chap in the video, would opening a door and letting some water into the cabin help sink you so you can regain traction?

Obviously it would have to be a pretty serious situation to even consider it but it could just work?

You won't be able to open the door in that situation because the weight of water is pushing against the door.

I've seen a few old landrovers wait until they sink to regain traction on the bottom. They even go into the water with the door not shut fully to help the water in.

i have had mine a window level and was floating but front wheels pulled me out and it has been over all they plugs and lot in the bay as you can see water marks on the block but that is only from going in down drops in to the water and i have also seen people have sj's and jimnys well over the bonnet half way up windscreen

Had little Ooky over the bonnet and 2" up the screen.
Also up to the wing mirrors and to the side glass and she never let a drop in.

Note, full breathers on Axels / Gearbox and all electrics WD40'd before and after
