That`s a cracking tip, I`ve yet to unleash the horrors behind the drums on mine but I`ll probably thank you for that when I do :)

Excellent idea, never thought of it, I just used the wiggle & screwdriver method.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Great tip.

I've got a related tip I thought I'd share.

To remove the rear brake shoes don't bother trying to remove the top spring. Take the bottom spring off, which is easy, and take the 2 nuts off the piston and remove the piston. You can then get the brake shoes off without taking the spring off. Goes back on the same way and its easy to get them back in and set up.
