Yeah, that's how it should be done. Takes 15 minutes max to make an extractor of some sort, and the wheel will pop off without any wd40, heating and other magic tricks.facade wrote: Can't you make an extractor?
There are 2 threaded holes in your picture that take bolts to extract the wheel with a bar across the column. Drill a hole in the bar and put a nut & bolt through it, then loosen the nut whilst holding the bolt to pull the wheel off the correct way.
