Why not use angle for the extension with box and threads on the end?

dont know but could u not drill and tap the ends off the chassie one on each side sumet like a inch then use something like the above with the long shank then put a nut or drill and tap a smaller plate than the ends of the chassie u could then just drive to a welder with everthing fastened in position and weld the plate or nut to the chassie.you could then screw em in out when wonted.

These eyelets are not designed for off road recovery. They are for cars to get towed up a recovery truck beaver back or behind an AA van. You need a heavy duty eyelet that will take a shackle of say 1 ton. It needs to be bolted with a 8:8 set of bolts and big plates behind to withstand the sort of loading a stuck up to your axles mud bog applies to you jimny. If done wrongly these make do cheap fix solutions have been knon to KILL
