funkyjimny wrote: I had this one on mine briefly, too heavy for the jimny really, bit wide too. they are about £500 from ebay, Primetech very good, but heavy. I have a picture of it on top of my jimny somewhere, only fitted so that it opened up over one side. if I'd have kept it there it would have been ripped off laning lol. Without my ARB it was a little daunting on corners to say the least.

I had a roof-top tent on a previous vehicle. Spacious but such a pain in the (_|_) Whenever you want to drive anywhere you have to pack the damn thing up, stow everything away. Now I have two tents, one that pops up with a quick toss in the air for overnight or 1/2 days camping and a larger one that takes 1/2 hour to set up but has plenty of space for a week or more. So much better when you wake up, want a hot brecky in town or whatever. You just go and come back to the tent later, none of this dreary packing away all the time. I think the novelty, for me, wore off after the second morning and I sold it pronto.

The pop-up tent is perfect for rainy days as it sets itself in 2-3 seconds and that was why I discontinued using a swag.
