Greenlaning in Derbyshire

I'm probably better not getting going too much on this or I'll explode.

Twice the presenter stated that as he sat there he came to realise the point of view of the Ramblers but not once did he say the same for the motorists.

But I don't think the motorists described why they enjoyed driving greenlanes very effectively. To be fair to the presenter he did ask them too!

In fact I don't feel the motorists represented us very well at all.

I think the Ramblers rambled with no facts or substance, just opinion and that was our saving grace, along with the Chief Executive of the Peaks Nation Park telling them so! What a great and bold bloke.

You could see the faces of the staff of the Park as they restrained themselves from saying to the Ramblers what they were thinking, then their boss just said it as plainly but yet somehow dilpomatically as he did!

I think we need to get out of the mindset of going to find a challenging lane and a little more into having a gentle drive in the country, leaving the challenging stuff for the pay and play sites. Having said that, rocky places such as the Lakes and Derbyshire suffer little from our use due to their hard surfaces.

Chapel Gate differed due to the water erosion exacerbated by our use and I actually agree with it's TRO. Stanage Edge is fine apart from the idiots that go off piste at one end.

We have the law on our side and it can only be changed with evidence, not whinging, so let's not provide any!

I agree with kirkynut, wherever possible provide little or no ammunition.
Its been highlighted before and we aren't the only group to suffer with it but its a typical case of the minority spoiling it for everyone else. I know a few(i'm we all do) who just see it as a free way to get muddy.

I watched the programme and i was staggered that the only person they could find to represent 4x4 users was that tool in the freeloader!!!! He was ill prepared and incapable of public debate.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!
