Greenlaning in Derbyshire was created by supergaz
Tales from the national parks on BBC4
Anyone watching it? Loads of grumpy old sad acts wanting to close greenlanes.

just watched it, really winds me up! 4x4 drivers never try banning walkers! if all the local off roaders up there got together and tryed to get the walkers banned from the same lanes theyve been banned from to avoid more damage the walkers might start to realise how frustrating it is!

They just don't realise they are legal to drive and are public highways. Would you walk in the middle of the road and shout at every car wanting to pass?
Some of those lanes look pretty good though!

not sober no
they fail to understand that our way of appreciating the countryside is different to there way, therefore shouldnt be allowed! i live no-where near the peak district but this sort of thing seems to be going on all over the place, and the trouble is the ramblers shout louder than the off roaders as they are mainly retired and devote there lives getting us banned, whereas the offroaders spend what precious little spare time they have trying there best to enjoy these sort of routes! i'm only young but still have done a fair bit of walking in my life, as part of the duke of edinborough award and ten tors challenge so also appreciate that side of things, but even if i did ever encounter off roaders when walking on exmoor, they were gone within seconds anyway!
grrr

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I watched it.
Quite liked the bit where the offroaders made an "offer" to the locals of cutting the hedges back to widen the lane (I wish our council would think of that round here) but the nimbys expected a better offer- like what?
TBH, I couldn't see the fascination with driving that particular lane, looked very easy and pointless to me, apart from likely knocking the front skirt off, the corsa would have.driven it.
Was a bit artificial with all the "confrontations" too. I was expecting the bikers to ask the policeman why he wasn't out catching serial killers instead of harassing motorists

We all know that we the motorist are the easy target, The police don't want to get their hands dirty.
I also walk my dog on some local green lanes, but as these are roads, I keep him on a lead, and keep clear of passing motorists.
