I woke up this morning thinking exactly the same. They have those seats in trucks. Just need a second hand one, a few adjustments and problem solved.

Many thanks guys, went out an bought myself a nice new tyre pressure gauge over the weekend, and checked the pressures on the Jimny with that, I was running 25/28psi, so no wonder it was hard. Nevertheless tried 20/23 but it was too low, so raised them back to the manufacturer standard of 23/26 and it was much improved, so thanks to all for your help.
I have now however another question, which may need another thread but...I have just got some BF Goodridge Mud Terrain 215/75 r15 for the Jimny, and want to know what pressures to run them at? The same, or higher to compensate for the softer rubber?
Cheers
Phil

Hello there,
Just got myself a 2009 Jimny and was complaining about the same bumpy ride on bad streets. It really shakes me to headache and I finally have to slow down to withstand it
, specially that my other car is a Pajero and there is a huge difference in ride quality.
I was thinking about getting myself an OME suspension kit, but before investing in it, I was wondering if it would improve on-road ride quality or would it even make things worse.
My main usage would be on-road driving with a little off-road, since I'm very confident with the Pajero off-road (haven't tried the Jimny off-road yet).
Lifting is not my main concern, so would just replacing the stock shocks with OMEs be sufficient to improve on-road ride quality?

I have a Pajero too. I do the same as you describe - mainly on road with the odd weekly field to cross. To some extent the Pajero is a hard act to follow, it instills complete confidence and I for one have been spoiled by it. By comparison you will surely find the Jimny jerky, bumpy and so on. I believe it can be tamed a little but unfortunately it is what it is.
