Sorry for muddying the waters further but even if you don't necessarily understand all the terminology it tells you which is better and the why.

I thought that was the message.
I have had a counter offer on a 9800GT - note it is not a GTX. - but I am looking at GTXs too.
I checked and also the 730 is not low profile so won't fit in the Optiplex. It's looking like the only route is to get the 9800GT.
