You beat me to the posting.
You are referring to Pellgunoil which is dead costly. 
ATF is exactly what I use on my airgun seals. I put a drop (ATF) on the CO2 caplet when installing it too. CO2 dries out and rots the (nitrile) rubber.
Also silicone is a no no where there is metal to metal as it locks up.
