Today I washed the snow foam off to get on with my two bucket method wash - you have to be a bufty to understand. I didn't even get my Lambs wool mitt on my hand and I found this dent on my bonnet!

I know some kids have been playing football in the car park where I have been working lately but I've not seen them myself. Looks like a football has come down on it just in from the double skinned edge and made a round dent up to the double skinned bit where it promptly split the paint.

So now I'll have to shell out a couple of hundred quid to get the bonnet re-sprayed.

Why do I bother having a nice car?

We had this conversation on here a little while ago. I might as well run the Jimny as a daily and save the insurance and tax. Then I can park it next to all the sills idiots in Tesco who open their doors onto my Rock Sliders and laugh at them. It saves me parking on the other side of the car park to stop them doing it to my nice car and denting the door!

What is wrong with people?

Ahhhh!

I sold my Mini Cooper S JCW partly because of the constant bits of damage being caused to it when parked up. People reversing into it, scraping up the side etc etc. Thats why the Jimny is my daily although with only a 2 inch lift and bfg km2s it's pretty good on road.

I love my detailing and you may have seen in my project thread that I machine polished and detail the Jimny.

I had great success with paintless dent removal- even though it's double skinned they can often drill the inner skin for access. Wel worth having a go- my local chap is £50 per panel. Is there paint damage? Hard to see in your pic

Jokes aside, Im sick of the damage done to cars by people who just don't care, My wife works in a supermarket. We see first hand what happens.

I surprised her years ago with a new car, she took it to work, 1 day later it had two dings from shopping trolley's or car doors.

With the jimny I just don't worry.

This is it. With the Jimny the joke is on them!

The paint is split so water will get under it and rust it away if not painted unfortunately.

It's a proper body shop job.

I might take it in for a quote tomorrow with a guy I've used before. I've not been to him since about 2008 so I hope he's still going!

Thing is that when you then have a perfect bonnet it shows up the bumper and so on...

It looks like someone has stood on that bonnet Rob.

I like a few grazes and such (but hate dents) on the motor cos then I don't worry about getting any more.

Sometimes I think it's all down to how rich you are.

I have tried doing paintless dent repairs in the past - that one looks like a toughie TBH - it is easy to make it worse. Steel panels are so awfully thin these days.

I think you would be just as gutted no matter which car it was.

I do sympathise - it is galling.
