Some unpleasant person has dented my pride and joy

I have a really clean and shiny MK6 Fiesta ST 150 as my daily car. I have spent a lot of money on it maintaining it and making it nice. The bodywork is awesome for a 9 year old car.

Today I washed the snow foam off to get on with my two bucket method wash - you have to be a bufty to understand. I didn't even get my Lambs wool mitt on my hand and I found this dent on my bonnet!

I know some kids have been playing football in the car park where I have been working lately but I've not seen them myself. Looks like a football has come down on it just in from the double skinned edge and made a round dent up to the double skinned bit where it promptly split the paint.

So now I'll have to shell out a couple of hundred quid to get the bonnet re-sprayed.

Why do I bother having a nice car?

We had this conversation on here a little while ago. I might as well run the Jimny as a daily and save the insurance and tax. Then I can park it next to all the sills idiots in Tesco who open their doors onto my Rock Sliders and laugh at them. It saves me parking on the other side of the car park to stop them doing it to my nice car and denting the door!

Left-field suggestion... Panel-beat the bonnet, bog up the minor imperfections and then paint the bonnet Matt Black like a rally car and add big spotlights if you haven't already got them. Give your car a whole new look :evil:

I was the same as you a few year's back kirky always had a tidy car with regular buffing to regular at times in fact and got sick of been worried about it all the time and with having the jimny that just gets jetwashed when needed and thats it i gave up and now just run about in bangers that i couldn't care less about and the jimny.part of me still wants something tidy and nice but seeing this and when I hear storys from mates who have picked damage it puts me off . wouldn't let it put you off too much sure it can be repaired quite easily or look see if you can pick up a 2nd hand black bonnet mite be an idea.sure you would soonget sick of using the jimny as a daily know i do.

James, I think I'm best not finding them for my sake aswell as their's! They wouldn't find my normal calm polite side!

ZookFastback, I like your thinking but this is a shiny through and through!

Gaz, I think I would tire of the Jimny as a daily as I like a good stereo and the Jimny's is crap no matter what you do with it and the whine of MT'S and a rocklobster will soon get too much. Having said that I have thought about more sensible MT's like BFG's , some sound deadening and rear speakers.

My winch is old so not expensive but I could find a way to secure it.

My Mrs has a Bmw for long journeys too. We shall see.

It would be a bloody cool daily though!

It also gives me a reason to keep it seeing as I don't use it much otherwise.

I feel for you Kirky, although my Jimny is getting on a bit it's up together & I just hate those who just don't care for other peoples property.
Even when stood beside your car, they open on to yours & when questioned oh sorry 'it's only a small' mark' ...

But there wasn't a mark before, bloody inconsiderate drivers ..........
