difficult one to call really.

I really enjoyed the program, and some of the stupidity was very funny (diving into a snowbank is a classic)

I generally appreciated his outspoken political views.

but...... he crossed the line of what he could get away with far too many times. things like the George Michael dig was too far, I not sticking up for George Michael (I can't stand the guy), but the general point of the comment was poor taste.


Laughing at Caravans... funny.

the 3 British sports car challenge, where the registrations made rude anagrams.... funny.

building a 3 storey motorhome..... funny


mocking the dead from a war by using a car registration....... Not funny

Punching a producer.... not funny.

driving into James Mays' car and slamming doors into it..... not funny (hate Richard Hammond because of it)


nonetheless, I cannot see the show surviving on BBC without him, and in all likelihood, Hammond and May will follow him off the show.

The stupid producer guy should have managed Clarkson better and cooked a prime beef joint for him there and then instead of saying no to hot food.

yep he owns a large slice of the brand, which is probably what complicates the future for TG.

I don't think it would be acceptable if I'd punched one of our HR team because the meeting buffet was cold cuts when I wanted hot food, he's in a position to set an example, and even if we don't know the full story (and shy of each being put to a lie detector test, we never will), it is never acceptable to take your fists to someone in the workplace, let alone a professional who ought to know better.

if I was Tiff Needel and V. B-Henderson, I'd be getting nervous now, as Channel 5 are probably wondering how much to pay him.

Yes that is very true but I have been very tempted in years gone by!! :laugh:

I think it will crop up somewhere as TG TNG (Top Gear the next generation!)
