Surely though if you stick the chassis plate on a none original shell then it defeats the object, I appreciate it would increase the value, but I meen from a purists point of view it just doesn't seem right to me.

Now that's a hoot. I think restorers do try to keep as much of the original as they can. There were many Escorts with Mexico looks back then...........only the log book told the truth.
The RS200 fronts copies could be bought for the Mk2 Escorts.
