Good for you! I've "rescued" a few doggies from the pound myself - can be pretty tough going, at least until you get to know one another, and the house rules become clear to pooch. I don't quite understand why the police just passed this poor pooch by though. On a busy road and poochie was running around. Could have caused a particularly serious accident.
