Make sure you buy a big and fast memory card too, don't scrimp!
the black model has some nice feature over the other models but to be honest buy the package that best suits your needs as the accessories are quite pricey.. motorsport suction mount is solid as a rock!... get a floatie rear door just in case it drops off in a muddy bomb hole..

I rarely use the highest resolutions because the files are so big they bog my computer down, and most of the quality is lost if you upload them to the net.
Even the lowest spec one will be a great camera and they all have the one big feature that makes GoPros great- you can put them anywhere, attached to anything in any environment and you will get a great video. So just choose whatever suits your budget really.
