Suppliers include people "breaking for spares" on a regular basis, when purchasing spares members should ask a supplier what they contribute to the running of the forum

Wanted - Transmission Control Module was created by GreenJMY
Need to replace the TCM on my 2018 (JAN) Jimny which has faults.
Model No of TCM is 38880-76JG 0. This part is no longer available from Suzuki.
Has any one got a s/hand one I could purchase.
Is there an alternative TCM that would be suitable possibly a different part number ?
Any advice would be welcome Thanks

Having a similar age automatic I'm interested and slightly apprehensive as to the nature of the faults with your tcm that require it being replaced?

Ah yes that would do it. Have you tried more than one main dealer as I was under the impression that manufacturers were supposed to offer parts supply up to 10 years old by law?

I have looked into this with the dealer. The issue is that with these modules the last couple of digits of the part number is effectively the software version number. Therefore whilst the basic TCM is similar across a wider range of models the software is very specific and this is a very late model Jimny which has a lot of differences just prior to the Gen4 launch. As the TCM is around £2500 it is an expensive "experiment" . I believe there is actually no specific time the manufacturer has to supply parts for. I have searched around for a TCM that has 76J as the first three of the second part and not found one yet .
