Yes, due to popular demand we have organised a BigJimny Meet event on June 14th 2026 at  Parkwood 4x4 (a.k.a Tong) which is between Leeds and Bradford in West Yorkshire. This is a meet-up with 4x4 off-road drive around event. This is a social meet along with the opportunity to drive your vehicle off-road on a site where there is something for everyone. So its time to put it in your diary as this is a not to be missed event.

This is an event for all vehicles, from shiny to fully tricked up. It is also a social event with overnight camping and a great vibe for those wanting to simply hang around with fellow Jimny enthusiasts. The event location is Parkwood 4x4 which is often called "Tong", the postcode is BD4 0RR. This is one of the largest off-road sites in the UK and has a variety of firm tracks through to extreme testing terrain. There will be a burger van during the day for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We will be also organising toilets and wash facilities for the camping area.

All participants must be pre-booked, turn up ad-hoc on the day will not be permitted. General spectators are not permitted as there is only limited space. Everyone attending should have a seat in a booked vehicle and that seat should have appropriate safety provision (seat belt, child seat, harness etc.)

Booking is PER VEHICLE and it is £45, there is a multi-vehicle discount for VEHICLES BOOKED AT THE SAME TIME so gather your friends together and make a single booking to save.

Additional drivers/passengers with the same vehicle are free, we are setting the limit on tickets to 140.

BEFORE YOU BOOK - You can ask questions etc. in the forum here: - FORUM DISCUSSION

ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED - There is a WhatsApp group just for this event (no Technical Support or general Jimny Chat) - Please email  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your entry number and mobile number to gain  access

VEHICLES

Trailered vehicles are permitted, however this is a family drive around event so do not come if you expect to blast around in a "scrapper". BigJimny and the site owners reserve the right to refuse entry to vehicles that appear to be little more than scrap. There has been a rise in recent events(not BigJimny events!) where people have brought along a scrapper to destroy, this is not what this event is about.

As with any motorsport or motor related event, there is a small element of danger. You are responsible for driving in a safe manner. The event is suitable for beginners and shiny cars but you should be aware that there is always a chance of a puncture or foliage scratches dependant on how you drive.

04/07/08 - Smiffy and Macs ASBOJimny

Here are some pictures of Smiffy and Macs  ASBOJimny build. As you can see they started with a standard Jimny only a couple of weeks back....

So why "ASBOJimny"? Well its registration has the letters ASB in it and for those of you who are not in the UK an ASBO (Anti-Social Behaviour Order) is a warning issued to people who are deemed to be acting "Anti Socially" - so I guess this is going to be a monster!.....

01/07/08 - Chris' Jimny

Chris has sent in these pictures of his Jimny on its first green lane adventures. At present it is standard, but watch this space as he wants to develop it further and it will be nice to see it change.

For more pictures - see below

(And for anyone who hasn't sent in pictures of theirs yet - why not - drop me a line through the contacts section of this website!)

28/06/08 - The Trailing Arms (not the name of a pub!)

So the loud clonk (see HERE ) has been located.

I took off the wheels and removed the rear trailing arms. At first the arms looked ok, whilst the rubbers show signs of wear they are certainly not worn out. However a glance back at the mounting point showed the real source of the problem....

26/6/08 - A loud clonk!

My Jimny has gained a significant clonk when letting up the clutch, there is also a lot of drive chain "shunt" and rubber "squeaking" whenever the back axle is exercised in any way.

I have crawled underneath and pushed and pulled things.

18/6/08 - Damaged axle - update

When I returned from Avon Dassett the other week my rear wheel bearing had failed.

I have replaced the wheel bearing and just taken the car for a test drive.

There is a lound "Rub Rub Rub" noise, consistent with the rotating of the wheel. Its loud enough to almost be a "Clunk Clunk Clunk" noise.

The noise stops when I gently apply the brakes whilst driving.

I have stripped the drum off and I think I can feel some sort of "Rub" in the system as I rotate the axle shaft by hand.

I have also taken this video of what looks like a wobble, but perhaps the centre ring is not straight anyway?

Is the axle shaft bent? Is the axle housing bent. Strangely enough when I had the shaft out I did think I saw a slight twist in the splines.

So now I have had a quick look
