Yes, due to popular demand we have organised a BigJimny Meet event on June 14th 2026 at  Parkwood 4x4 (a.k.a Tong) which is between Leeds and Bradford in West Yorkshire. This is a meet-up with 4x4 off-road drive around event. This is a social meet along with the opportunity to drive your vehicle off-road on a site where there is something for everyone. So its time to put it in your diary as this is a not to be missed event.

This is an event for all vehicles, from shiny to fully tricked up. It is also a social event with overnight camping and a great vibe for those wanting to simply hang around with fellow Jimny enthusiasts. The event location is Parkwood 4x4 which is often called "Tong", the postcode is BD4 0RR. This is one of the largest off-road sites in the UK and has a variety of firm tracks through to extreme testing terrain. There will be a burger van during the day for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We will be also organising toilets and wash facilities for the camping area.

All participants must be pre-booked, turn up ad-hoc on the day will not be permitted. General spectators are not permitted as there is only limited space. Everyone attending should have a seat in a booked vehicle and that seat should have appropriate safety provision (seat belt, child seat, harness etc.)

Booking is PER VEHICLE and it is £45, there is a multi-vehicle discount for VEHICLES BOOKED AT THE SAME TIME so gather your friends together and make a single booking to save.

Additional drivers/passengers with the same vehicle are free, we are setting the limit on tickets to 140.

BEFORE YOU BOOK - You can ask questions etc. in the forum here: - FORUM DISCUSSION

ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED - There is a WhatsApp group just for this event (no Technical Support or general Jimny Chat) - Please email  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your entry number and mobile number to gain  access

VEHICLES

Trailered vehicles are permitted, however this is a family drive around event so do not come if you expect to blast around in a "scrapper". BigJimny and the site owners reserve the right to refuse entry to vehicles that appear to be little more than scrap. There has been a rise in recent events(not BigJimny events!) where people have brought along a scrapper to destroy, this is not what this event is about.

As with any motorsport or motor related event, there is a small element of danger. You are responsible for driving in a safe manner. The event is suitable for beginners and shiny cars but you should be aware that there is always a chance of a puncture or foliage scratches dependant on how you drive.

19/7/08 - Rebuilding the Trailing Arms

You will have read the article (HERE) about the problems I found with my trailing arms - so now on with the story of how to refurbish them.

Replacement bushes are available from Suzuki, for each trailing arm you require two axle end bushes and one body end bush.

The part numbers are:

Axle end: - 42682-81A00
Body end:- 46213-65D00

Be aware that originally Suzuki would only supply the complete trailing arm, they would not supply the bushes separately. Some dealers still think this is the case, simply quote the bush part numbers to them!

The picture below shows the new bushes. As you can see they are encased in a steel sleeve which is a real pain when it comes to pushing the old ones out.

07/07/08 - Cargo net mod from Chris

A modification sent in by Chris - Many thanks.
As my Jimny is also my daily drive, one of the things that I don't always enjoy is the lack of useful storage space. This led me to conclude that the concave space in the rear door needed to be used, otherwise it is wasted space, so I made this little modification...

The net cost me £6.31 from ebay (including postage) and I've used about 1/4 of what I bought, the bungee cord came with the net. The little tabs are made from cheap nylon webbing, to make 8 of them used about 1.5ft of strap. By taking the door card off I was able to drill through and use washers on the back side to give the whole assembly a lot more strength, which I hope will prevent the nuts from pulling through the plastic door card. It's ideal for holding waterproofs, hi-vis vests, gloves, shopping bags etc, and they will fold flat into the door if the boot is full of other stuff
