Cheers mate, not a bad idea. I have also noticed on a few forums people using welding cable, seems a cheaper option, any opinions on using his?

Sorry I should have been clearer. I use 35mm2 welding cable, with 50mm2 welding cable ran to the rear. If you get it from your local welding supplier, they can also supply you with the large crimp on terminals. You will need to crimp or solder these on. I borrowed a large set of crimpers from Reaper :)

Thanks sponnie, I think this will be the way to go, I am going to wait and set up a second battery and split charge system at he same time, in the mean time I will run the control box on the winch.

I crimped mine with a brake pipe flairing tool



On the 8th Day God made the LandRover -
On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

If you have access to a good source of heat, get it soldered. Best solution, no question. but crimping will do :)

yeah i soldered mine

last thing you want is the wire coming out and frying your fuse box/battery with it being linked to the battery its self
