Hi all,

I had a bit of an impromptu excursion off road on the way to work this morning, and ended up hitting two very large rocks on the side of the road. The nearside front shock absorber needs replacing other things. Is this fairly easy to change? I've changed brakes and track rod ends before but have never done a shock absorber. I've read on here that it can be done without even removing the wheel, or is that just for the rear?

It is possible with the wheel on but it is so much easier with it off. It's literally just 2 fairly tight bolts and you're done . If it takes you half an hour you have stopped for a cuppa half way through.

Thanks for the reply. I'll soak them both in WD40 just to be on the safe side.

PB Blaster is much better when it comes to freeing rusted bolts.

Thanks for the tip; I've never heard of that. I've used Plusgas before but didn't find it much better than WD40.
