The new Jimny as been spotted, see pictures. Appears to be very similar, with solid axles front and rear and the same size wheels and tyres. I wasn't expecting it to stay that way!

I'm loving the look of that. Like an sj but with sensible suspension.

That certainly looks the business! I was concerned that they were going to make some horrible soft roader like the current Vitara.

Looks more like an off roader than the present Jimny and still with solid axles...wasn't expecting that, also looks a little wider?

Love the comments ;

Mr J
Yikes I hope they can do better with the restyling - as shown, the new car looks older than the old model.

Gordon McCartney
what year are we in?

gabriele_white
It looks like a russian 4x4 of the eighties.

Alan Gale
I like it, It sort of looks familiar and comforting if that makes sense. I hope they sorted the stability problems out though as they were notorious for rolling over under certain conditions.

stelvio
looks like a mini G class

Suppose they never bothered with a wind tunnel for aerodynamics then

Hmmm, errrr, don't like it?...

It's too "boxey"?

Like the nod to the old Vitara in the dual-level bottom of the window, but that's about it... :(

Now for me it is the box shape that I like.B) B)

It is like an SJ with a Hummer front and that is fantastic.
Are they not just bringing back the SJ after realising the error they made in dropping it (for the Jimny) or is this a wind up.
I don't want the usual so common today wind tunnel lines that all the other lookalike motors seem to be.

I like it! I don't think Jimny needs wind tunnel tests... it has aerodynamics of an refridgerator and that's fine by me. It is not a fast car, and it doesn't need to look loke one.
