That's bad luck pal. :( I'm sick of speed limits and such criminalising the poor motorist.

I got caught in my Transit a couple of years ago.
Took the "Speed awareness course" instead of the points.
Biggest waste of 4 hours of my life. Bunch of T**sers running the course and the best advice they could give on not getting caught speeding was - and this is true -
"drive everywhere in 3rd gear, the engine noise will tell you when tyou are going too fast!"

Mate of mine did it more recently and they now recommend 2nd gear in case you are in a 20mph zone!?!?!?!

Just another naffin tax on the poor beleaugured motorist.

Yeah I did a course too. I was 1mph over the limit. The won't offer it to peeps more than 5mph over I believe. I ended up arguing every five minutes that speed limits should be advisory and not a crime. They hit you by making you lose a day's pay.

Thats what annoys me.
When plod had me in the back of his car he told me I fitted the profile for a speed awareness course and that may be the option they take instead of 3pts and 60 quid
So I was suprised to find out the actual fine is a 100 quid and no option for a course.
Asking around apparantly Cleveland Plod use the formula 10% above limit +9mph will qualify you for a course. Anything above its fixed penalty or summons.
Like I said to the plod, No wonder people are loosing respect for the lot of em. No discrection used at any time.
Hope I pass one stuck in the snow this year
