Washed it, did all except the roof (which no-one sees) with a power polisher and ScratchX, and worked on the deeper scratches by hand.  Someone must have dropped a sponge and kept using it!  Filled a few chips with black crayon.  Then did the whole car in carnauba wax.

Then the grim bit.  Removed the wheel arch liners - didn't break any clips, although one was already missing!  Brushed out the dirt the hosepipe hadn't flushed.  The area behind the headlights is really good.  The rear body mounts are also very solid, but looked worse.  The rest of the underside of the body, including the boot floor and rear seat area, is clean.  I wire brushed both problem areas and slopped some Rust-Anode zinc paint on there.  Will add a few coats of underbody wax to the usual area and the brake pipes tomorrow., and paint the sump if I have time.    I have Bilt-Hamber clear wax because MOT testers get upset if they can't see the brake pipes are good.

Really horrible bout of rustproofing.  Also Hammerited the sump, which had a bit of surface rust.  One nasty surprise is that the steel brake pipes on the front axle are really quite rusty.  I had a go at one with abrasive paper and it wasn't too bad underneath, so I sprayed them all with wax. All the other brake pipes in the car are clean as the day they were made.  Has anyone had the front ones replaced?  I have no intention of DIY on this.

Looking good James and a great number plate to go with it.
Did you get a new matching jacket or did you already have that?

They remind me of the white Enkeis that people put on MX-5s (with a somewhat lower-profile tyre!).

I think that's who makes them for suzuki. In the absence of a set of mach5 wheels those are easily my favourite.

Did the dealer fit the lift kit and KM3's?
