It's just a plastic connector on a bracket. I thought I was being too lucky. :(

I got a hand held code reader from a company called GENDAN. It was listed for the VW badged machines but has the technology onboard to read most cars. Both my kids have Suzukis, ones a Jimny and the other a Vitara and it reads those fine. It does a lot more than the engine too! If you want to talk to them their tel# is 01792588002. They have a website and they also sell on ebay.
